December: A Month of Illumination, Reflection, and Connection

As the year winds down, December brings with it the enchanting theme of Illumination—a time to embrace the light within and around us. Whether through the twinkling of holiday lights, the glow of the Yule log, or the warmth of shared traditions, this is a season that invites us to pause, reflect, and connect with the essence of hope and renewal.

Did you know that December gets its name from the Latin word decem, meaning "ten"? In the ancient Roman calendar, December was the tenth month of the year—a reminder of how even time itself evolves, just as we do.

This month, we honor a variety of holidays that celebrate light and love: Yule, marking the return of the sun; Christmas, a time of joy and giving; Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights; and Kwanzaa, celebrating unity and culture. Whatever you observe, may this be a season of warmth and wonder for you.
